International Culture Exchange School (ICES) of SUFE is devoted to the education of foreign students and enrolls both students who have won Chinese Government Scholarship and students studying at their own expenses. A well-designed, multi-level education system has been in place. Chinese Language Courses

Scholarship and Exemption and Reduction of Tuition
SUFE is one of the 94 universities that are eligible for government scholarship. Applicants for such scholarship may apply to Chinese diplomatic missions or the competent authorities in their home country. Please look the website of CSC (http://www.csc.edu.cn) for details.

All the foreign students who have studied in SUFE for one or more than one semester are eligible for SUFE Scholarship if they have high attendance, do well in their studies and take an active part in the activities organized by the School. They need to submit application for such scholarship from their second semester. SUFE Scholarship is awarded every semester, with a maximum of RMB 5,000.

To help those excellent students who come from developing countries to complete their studies, their tuitions can be totally exempted or partially reduced. From the second semester, such students need to submit applications approval from the school authority.

Application
We wouldn’t recruit the applicant whoever sicken AIDS、Venereal Disease、Psychosis and Opening lung tuberculosis.
Time to Submit Application:
Autumn Admission: May 8 to June 30 every year for Chinese Language students, Bachelor Program students, students of Special Program Towards Bachelor Degree, and students of Non-Degree Programs; May 8 to June 15 every year for Master Degree students and Doctoral students. Exams of Specialized Courses will be organized for them within two weeks after their Applications have been submitted.
Spring Admission: November 1 to December 31 every year for Chinese Language students, Bachelor Program students, students of Special Program Towards Bachelor Degree and students of Non-Degree Programs; November 1 to December 15 every year for Master Degree students and Doctoral students. Exams of Specialized Courses will be organized for them within two weeks after their Applications have been submitted.
Vacation Courses and Other Short-term Courses: Please apply from one month before such course starts to when it starts. Please contact Admission Office if you fail to apply before the deadline.

Application Procedure:

①Fill in the “SUFE Application Form for International Students”
②A copy of valid passport
③High school or college certificate and academic record (not applicable for those who plan to take Chinese Language Courses)
④Proof of Chinese language ability or study experience of Chinese language
⑤Application fee

Upon the receiving of the above-mentioned documents, International Cultural Exchange School of SUFE will, within 14 working days, mail the Applicant the Visa Application Form for Foreign Students (JW202 Form) and Admission Notice.

The Applicant applies to local Chinese Embassy or Chinese Consulate for a visa to come to China.

Average expense for one foreign student each day is estimated to be RMB20 (RMB5 on breakfast, RMB7 on lunch and RMB8 on supper).

Insurance ??
Foreign students who have come to study in our School must buy overseas medical insurance. Those who have got Chinese government scholarship are eligible for Comprehensive Insurance of Foreign Students Studying in China. Foreign students who come to study at their own expenses need to buy medical and accident insurance before or after entry into China. The students without Medical insurance will not be allowed for register.

Colorful Extracurricular Activities

The International Cultural Day at the end of May every year offers an opportunity for foreign students to share with their fellow students their unique culture and unique foods as well as what they have achieved in their studies.

Celebration activities are organized by the School before Christmas including Christmas Dinner Party and students’ performances.

Banks: Bank of China, one branch is opposite the gate of Hongkou Park and another branch near Dabaishu; locations of branches of both ICBC and Bank of Shanghai at Guanglingyi Road near the back gate of the School.
Hospitals: Guangzhonglu District Hospital is at Guanglingyi Road; Yueyang Hospital at Zhongshanbeiyi Road; International Medical Center of No. 1 People’s Hospital at Jiulong Road; Navy 411 Hospital at Sichuan Road.

1. From Airports to the School
◇ From Pudong Airport to the School：
① Taking Airport Limousine Line 4 and getting down at Hongkou Football Stadium (ticket fare: RMB18), then taking taxi to the School (taxi fare: about RMB11);
② Taking taxi with the total fare of about RMB180
◇ From Hongqiao Airport to the School：
① Taking Bus 941 and getting down at Tianshan Road, switching to Bus 829 and getting down at Zhongshanbeiyi Road, then walking back to the School;
② Taking Bus 925 and getting down at Kaixuan Road, switching to Pearl Line (light rail) and getting down at Chifeng Road;
③ Taking taxi with the total fare of about RMB80

2. From Shanghai Railway Station to the School:
① From the Southern Square of the Station: taking Bus 723 and getting down at Zhongshanbeiyi Road;
②Taking taxi with the total fare of about RMB20.

3. Airport Pick Up
Free pick up once every semester is provided if five or more than five students arrive in the same plane, but need to notify beforehand. Paid pick up can be arranged: RMB300 once.
