International Culture Exchange School (ICES) of SUFE is devoted to the education of foreign students and enrolls both students who have won Chinese Government Scholarship and students studying at their own expenses. Scholarship and Exemption and Reduction of Tuition
SUFE is one of the 94 universities that are eligible for government scholarship. Applicants for such scholarship may apply to Chinese diplomatic missions or the competent authorities in their home country. Please look the website of CSC (http://www.csc.edu.cn) for details.
All the foreign students who have studied in SUFE for one or more than one semester are eligible for SUFE Scholarship if they have high attendance, do well in their studies and take an active part in the activities organized by the School. They need to submit application for such scholarship from their second semester. SUFE Scholarship is awarded every semester, with a maximum of RMB 5,000.
To help those excellent students who come from developing countries to complete their studies, their tuitions can be totally exempted or partially reduced. From the second semester, such students need to submit applications approval from the school authority.
Application
We wouldn¡¯t recruit the applicant whoever sicken AIDS¡¢Venereal Disease¡¢Psychosis and Opening lung tuberculosis.
Time to Submit Application:
Autumn Admission: May 8 to June 30 every year for Chinese Language students, Bachelor Program students, students of Special Program Towards Bachelor Degree, and students of Non-Degree Programs; May 8 to June 15 every year for Master Degree students and Doctoral students. Exams of Specialized Courses will be organized for them within two weeks after their Applications have been submitted.
Spring Admission: November 1 to December 31 every year for Chinese Language students, Bachelor Program students, students of Special Program Towards Bachelor Degree and students of Non-Degree Programs; November 1 to December 15 every year for Master Degree students and Doctoral students. Exams of Specialized Courses will be organized for them within two weeks after their Applications have been submitted.
Vacation Courses and Other Short-term Courses: Please apply from one month before such course starts to when it starts. Please contact Admission Office if you fail to apply before the deadline.

- A deposit of RMB800 is to be paid when checking in and will be refunded when checking out.
- The total lodging expenses are to be paid at the beginning of each semester in cash in RMB. A fine is imposed if there is a delay in payment.
- Room telephone is to be used with 201 Magnetic Card (to be bought on campus).
- Only long-term students (those scheduled to study for one semester or more) are eligible for the above lodging expenses. Short-term students should pay RMB65 for one bed each day.
- Big size safes for laptops are available to foreign students within the dormitory building. The rent for such safe is RMB30 / half year and RMB60 / year.

Insurance ??
Foreign students who have come to study in our School must buy overseas medical insurance. Those who have got Chinese government scholarship are eligible for Comprehensive Insurance of Foreign Students Studying in China. Foreign students who come to study at their own expenses need to buy medical and accident insurance before or after entry into China. The students without Medical insurance will not be allowed for register.
Colorful Extracurricular Activities
- Sightseeing
- In each semester, one 1-day teaching touring is organized after Mid-term Exam. Details will be announced one month in advance. Students can decide by themselves whether to participate or not. They need to pay for the touring.
- The School pays for part of the expenses of the touring.
- International Cultural Day
The International Cultural Day at the end of May every year offers an opportunity for foreign students to share with their fellow students their unique culture and unique foods as well as what they have achieved in their studies.
Celebration activities are organized by the School before Christmas including Christmas Dinner Party and students¡¯ performances.

Banks: Bank of China, one branch is opposite the gate of Hongkou Park and another branch near Dabaishu; locations of branches of both ICBC and Bank of Shanghai at Guanglingyi Road near the back gate of the School.
