Introduction
       The Dept. of Mathematics(DOAM) was formally established in August, 2000. Currently, DOAM has 37 faculties, including 20 professors and associate professors, 23 faculties with doctor degree and 7 advisers of Master. DOAM comprises two specialities: Mathematics and Applied Mathematics, Information and Computed Mathematics. The master program of Probability and Mathematical Statistics enrolled in 2002, the master program of Operations Research and Control Theory registered in 2003, and the master program of Applied Mathematics registered in 2007. At present, the department is applying for the master program of Computational Mathematics. In our department, the research contents include Probability and Mathematical Statistics, Differential Equation and Dynamical System, Control and Optimization, Financial Mathematics, perations Research, Mechanics, Computational Fluid Mechanics etc.
      DOAM undertook 4 items of national natural science fund, and many achievements of study have been issued in SCI, EI, national first class magazines and key magazines.
      The speciality of Mathematics and Applied Mathematics(applied to Economics) not only trains the students to possess solid mathematical bases and excellent abilities of computer applying, but also help them to learn how Mathematics is applied to the fields of economics and finance and to undertake the practical experiences and theoretical research in various institutes of economics and finance. The subjects include Mathematical Analysis, Advanced Algebra, Probability and Mathematical Statistics, Mathematical Models, Differential Equation, Operations Research, Optimal Control, Game Theory, Actuarial Mathematics, Insurance Theory, Interest Theory, Investment Analysis, Financial Derivative, Computer Language, Applied Software etc.
      The graduates can get employment in the institutes of banks, bonds, foreign trade, etc. And they can consider management as their careers or be devoted to scientific research, or become postgraduates in the national and international universities and the institutes of scientific research.
