| 1. In 2007, the students in our univertsity gain the first place in the postgraduate student entrance examination (the examination of Mathematics III) in Shanghai. |
| According to the statistics of Shanghai Education & Examination Academy: this year's graduates of Shanghai university of finacial and economy achieve great success in maths in the postgraduate student entrance examination of universities in the whole country in this year. The students in my university mainly register the course of economy and administration. The examination course in Math is Mathematics III and Mathematics IV. The Math III's average mark of the students taking part in the examinaition is 95.93 and the percentage of pass is 60%, coming as the champion of all the Shanghai universities. |
| 2. SUN Zheng, vice president of SUFE, and WANG Hongwei, vice president of SUFE, came to the Department of Mathematics to inspect the preparation for Undergraduate Education Evaluation. |
| On April 20th, SUN Zheng, vice president of SUFE, WANG Hongwei, Vice president of SUFE, Professor HE Yuchang, Registry Director, and other experts of the inspecting group of Meeting Undergraduate Education Evaluation came to the Department of Mathematics to give the guidance of the work and inspect the work for Undergraduate Education Evaluation. Dr LIANG Zhi An, Dean of the Department, and RAN Qikang, Secretary of CPC of the Department made the work report. The expert group gave full recognition on the work and made some new requirements at last. |
| 3. SUN Zheng, vice president of SUFE, came to our department and visited the students who had won prizes of 2007 American Mathematical Contest in Modeling. |
| On April 11th, SUN Zheng, vice president of SUFE, came to our department and visited the instructors and the students who won prizes of 2007 American Mathematical Contest in Modeling. Associate Professor SUN Zheng pointed that the students will improve their comprehensive ability to establish mathematical model and solve practical problems by computer and the contest will cultivate their innovation spirit and cooperative consciousness. SUN Zheng also said that the school will further provide good condition for training and he incentive the students to get more outstanding achievements in the future. At last vice president SUN Zheng made pictures with the teachers and the students and brought some souvenirs to the students. |

| In the 4th Quality Courses Selection of SUFE, Advanced Algebra, our department undergraduate basic course was selected as the Quality Course. In addition, the undergraduate course Mathematical Experiment was selected as the focus constructive course of our school. |
