The School of Accountancy of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics has a history of 90 years. The School offers both undergraduate and postgraduate programs including doctoral programs. The Accountancy discipline offered by the school is recognized as a National Key Discipline. In addition to the Accountancy discipline, Corporate Finance is also offered by the school. The Ministry of Education has set up a Research Institute within the School and it is considered as a key Social Science Research Centre.
To promote research quality, faculty members of the School are encouraged to carry on joint research with scholars abroad and many of them are sent to prestigious overseas universities for study. Faculty members of the School have published papers either independently or in cooperation with others in international journals such as Journal of Accountancy and Economics, the Accountancy Review, Accountancy, Organization and Society, the Accountancy Horizons, and British Accountancy Review. Additionally, several working papers are under review at international journals.

●Postgraduate Program
The school has Master of Accountancy and Master of Corporate Finance courses. It was selected as one of the first schools to admit doctoral students by the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council. It has also established a postdoctoral station in accountancy and can offer good conditions for research.
To improve the quality of PhD students, the school has adopted the North American model, inviting professors from either North America or Hong Kong to give courses. The school's educational reform has already received acclaim and our PhD graduates enjoy a good reputation at home and abroad. Some of them have published papers in journals such as The Accountancy Horizons, and International Journal of Accountancy.
●Part-time Training
The school offers part-time training for companies in Accountancy and corporate finance. It is a quality instruction provider following the CICPA and ACCA professional scheme.
Faculty Position in Accountancy
Our school seeks candidates for faculty positions at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor level in Accountancy beginning in Fall 2005. Permanent and visiting appointments are available.
Appointments will be made in the areas of management Accountancy, financial Accountancy, auditing, and Accountancy information systems. All streams of Accountancy research may be accommodated. Candidates with a PhD degree in relevant areas (completed or near completion) and an actively developing research program are encouraged to apply. Salary ranges from US$20,000 to US$60,000, depending on qualifications and experience.

Honoring Teacher
Xinyuan Chen
Professor Xinyuan Chen received his Doctor of Accounting in 1994 from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. Prof. Chen published enormous books and papers, such as Advanced Financial Accounting ( The Press of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Aug. 2009), Accounting (The Press of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Aug. 2008), The Corporate Governance Issues in a Transitional Economy (The Press of Tsinghua University, Mar. 2007) , The Accounting and Finance Issues in a Transitional Economy (The Press of Tsinghua University, Nov. 2003), etc. Prof. Chen was honored Chang Jiang Scholar in 2006, and he also awarded “ National ‘Labor Day’ Medal ” in 2004, “1st National Famous Scholar Award” by the Ministry of Education in 2003, “ ‘China Mobile’ 1st Ten Young Economic Persons of Shanghai ” in 2003 and “Entrance to the 4th Cultivation Plan of Excellent Talents of 21st century ” by the Ministry of Education in 2000,etc.
Meanwhile, Mr. Chen has served successfully as the dean of the School of Accountancy.
