Important International Seminars

In the past five years, SUFE has held over 60 high-level international seminars with the participation of many world-renowned scholars. The topics dealt with the issues of economy, finance, accountancy, business, law, information technology, and humanities; some international academic frontiers were discussed both extensively and in depth, which boosted the development of both teaching and research, and raised SUFE’s reputation in the international academia.

 

Interuniversity Cooperation

SUFE has successively signed 60 agreements of cooperation with many universities and institutions, including Southampton University (UK), Miami University (US), and CPA Australia. These agreements involve joint programs in research and teaching, exchange of teachers and students, resource sharing, etc.

    So far seven Sino-foreign joint programs and one such institution have been set up by SUFE, covering education on various levels—undergraduate, postgraduate, professional, and vocational educations. A great many talents in management have come out of these programs, achieving good social effect.

 

Exchange of Teachers

SUFE encourages teachers to study abroad and attend international seminars, lectures, and joint research programs. Since 2004, 609 faculty members have been overseas for academic exchanges, and 92 of them took part in the teachers’ training programs.

In recent years, increasing numbers of distinguished scholars, including Nobel laurels Robert Fogel and James Mirrlees, came to visit SUFE.

Foreign experts are welcome to work here for teaching and research. Since 2004, we have invited a total of 566 teachers from the US, Britain, Australia, Canada, etc. 203 of them are long-term teachers, and 116 are language teachers; most of them are working in the Department of Foreign Languages, School of Economics, MBA School, and Sino-foreign joint programs for undergraduates.

 

International Student

Making great efforts to develop international education, SUFE has become the 1st choice for overseas students who plan to study finance, economics and Chinese in China. Not only the educational model characteristic of Business Chinese has won a high reputation, but also the integrative structure of degree education has come into shape. The number of registered international students at SUFE has exceeded 1200 till December, 2007，of which the degree students has accounted for more than 70%. Our international students come from 84 countries covering 5 continents as following, Asia, Europe, Africa, America and Australia.

 

Student Program

Since 2004, SUFE has made great endeavors to enlarge the scale and improve the level of student programs by sending altogether 827 students abroad, e.g., USA, UK, Canada, Japan, France, Sweden, the Netherlands, Finland and Nigeria, etc. Students had broadened their international perspectives and demonstrated good images through participating in the programs such as student exchange, academic seminar and international competition. SUFE students have won more than 10 awards in some important international competitions such as Mathematical Contest in Modeling (MCM) and World University International Chess Tournament.
