SUFE has a total of 900 faculty members, of whom 153 are professors, 281 associate professors. There are 5 “Yangtze River Scholars” awarded by the Ministry of Education. 441 teachers are PhD holders, accounting for 63.2% of the teaching staff, and 80 of them (11.5% of the total) got their degrees from prestigious overseas universities such as Harvard, Yale, Oxford, and Humboldt. In addition, SUFE has engaged over 20 renowned scholars from Yale, Princeton, MIT and other top universities as its honorary professors, adjunct professors, and chair professors.
A lot of high-quality academic achievements have been made in SUFE. In the past five years, our faculty members have published a large number of academic papers on top-ranking journals, such as The Accounting Review, Research Policy, Review of Economic Studies, Economic Theory, Economics Letters, Economic Research Journal, and Social Science in China, among which more than 200 were cited or included in SSCI, SCI, or EI. Besides, SUFE teachers have completed nearly 200 government-funded research projects.
SUFE enjoys a good social reputation for its strength in teaching. According to the rankings released by the central government, some of our disciplines, like applied economics, theoretical economics, and business administration, are among the national Top Ten all the time; in the “Chinese University Ranking” publicized by “Netbig”, SUFE occupies the highest position among China’s colleges and universities of finance and economics; also in the “Ranking of College Graduates’ Competitive Edge” issued by The Gallup Organization, SUFE ranks the third all around China.
